Open channels for feedback & data auditing

Contact support

Whether you are verifying an automated payslip, auditing student-loan Plan 1 / 2 / 5 / PGL deductions, or stress-testing the 2026/27 PAYE + NI math against your own records, your feedback shapes the next release. Use one of the verified channels below to report a calculation discrepancy, request a feature, or ask about the methodology.

Calculation audits & bug reports

Spotted a discrepancy in a PAYE band, NI threshold, student-loan plan or take-home figure? Send the engineering inbox a structured breakdown of the inputs, expected outcome and actual outcome so the fix can be reproduced in the test suite before shipping.

§ Response timelines

Communication guidelines

takehome-calculator.uk is an independent web utility, part of the SalaryGrid.uk network and maintained by a single engineering author. There are no automated call centres or generative support bots in the loop — every ticket is read by a human, triaged manually and routed straight into the codebase's issue tracker when it identifies a real defect.

  • Diagnostic calculation tickets are acknowledged within 2 business days and resolved or escalated to a known-issue tracker within 5 business days.
  • Data corrections (a band edge, an NI threshold, a student-loan plan rate) are released in the next scheduled deployment after verification against the relevant HMRC publication — usually within a week.
  • When filing a math bug , please include the calculator inputs you used (anonymise where you prefer), the expected output, the actual output and the browser you tested in. Screenshots speed up reproduction substantially.
  • No personalised tax advice. The calculator surfaces statutory math, not regulated financial advice. For Self-Assessment filings, complex personal allowances or non-PAYE income, please consult a qualified independent financial adviser (IFA) or UK accountant.

Privacy & data handling

Email correspondence is retained only for as long as it takes to resolve a ticket and any follow-up needed to close the loop. Salary figures and tax-code information shared inside a support thread are never reused for marketing, never shared with third parties, and are deleted on request. Read the full privacy policy for the canonical retention rules, or visit the SalaryGrid network About page for the maintainer profile.
